Lesson Overview

The basic ” SUP 101″ class, where all the basics are covered does not require any specific water sport experience except for being able to swim at least 50 meters comfortably. We will teach you: Equipment Overview, Safety and Awareness of the conditions, Balancing, Correct Stance, Steering and Turning, Proper paddling form and more. We recommend 1 hour class to start with, and some practice before the 2nd hour class. Paddle boarding has a much shorter learning curve than other board sports and many people can become quite proficient at the basics in a short period of time.  We provide the board, paddle, life vest and leg rope (/ leash). We suggest you bring: towel, sunscreen and water, get ready to have some fun.

Beginner SUP Class

Learn the basics and be up and paddling in no time.

  • suitable for the whole family
  • minimun age: seven provided child is a good swimmer and a good “listener”

Beginner SUP Lessons cover:

  • water safety
  • the board and paddle
  • entering and exiting the water
  • basic water skills on the board
  • basic paddle skills
  • manoeuvering the board
  • falling off the board safely
  • SUP paddling

  • Being a good swimmer and comfortable in water is a prerequisite for any usage of SUP
  • Maximum class size: 6 paddlers
  • Class must be reserved by email (isabelle@supschool.com.sg), and payment is made before class starts
  • No pre-payment so commitment and promptitude are expected
  • Weather dependent (lightning/thunder and storm are no go – no charges)

SUP Advanced

Once you have mastered the basics it is time to step your skill level so you can enjoy a broader range of conditions.

  • suitable for the whole family
  • minimun age: seven provided child is a good swimmer and a good “listener”

Lessons focus on:

  • paddling technique (the forward stroke)
  • advanced turns
  • SUP racing tips and tricks
  • developing an understanding of wind and current
  • open sea paddling (adults only)
  • SUP 101 is a prerequisite for SUP Advanced.
